Dick Guard in “Miss Tekapo”
The first pleasure boat to regularly visit Lake Tekapo was Sarong. Built and owned by Dick Guard, Alan Guard and Graeme Giddings it was a 10 ft Hydra Plane powered by a Ford 8. It was launched on Lake Tekapo 31st March 1957
“Miss Tekapo” the 2nd boat built and owned by the Guard Brothers and Graeme Giddings it was powered by a Ford 10 and was launched at Lake Tekapo on 1st Feb 1959
